Mig Alphonso

Gender & Social Inclusion Specialist

Mig Alphonso is a Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist with over 15 years of experience advancing gender-responsive education, curriculum analysis, and equity-driven initiatives across Africa, Asia, Canada, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. Born and raised in Guyana, South America, she has worked extensively with ministries of education, international development agencies, and learning institutions to integrate inclusive and gender-equitable practices into curriculum development, teacher training, and policy frameworks. She specializes in gender and social inclusion in education and training, ensuring that learning environments are equitable, accessible, and designed to minimize gender bias wherever possible.

She blends design thinking and futures thinking methodologies to conduct gender analysis, curriculum design, and program evaluation, ensuring innovative, user-centered approaches that align with global best practices. These methodologies guide her work in program design and addressing systemic inequalities.

Her strategic approach has fostered successful collaborations with governments, NGOs, and educational institutions, amplifying diverse voices and advancing equitable learning outcomes. Mig’s work emphasizes partnerships and long-term sustainability, helping organizations create meaningful change through participatory and innovative practices.
